Advance LA 2017 Conference: #CONNECT

Los Angeles, CA - United StatesMay-05-201707:00 am

The Help Group’s 2017 Advance LA Conference # CONNECT, features nationally prominent experts whose research and practice support young people with autism, learning differences and ADHD in their transition to college, the workplace and beyond. Young people with diverse challenges have the same need for connection and belonging as their typical peers, even though their neurodevelopmental differences might keep them from experiencing fulfilling connections intellectually and interpersonally. Our speakers will discuss ways to encourage and guide our young adults as they connect to themselves, to others, and to their academic and vocational pursuits in order to create meaningful and rewarding lives. Our speakers will also address the needs of those who support the young people in their journey. Registration is now open. www.advancela.org

Sherman Oaks, CA - United StatesMay-07-201705:00 pm

On Sunday, May 7th, The Help Group’s Kids Like Me program will be hosting a sensory-friendly family dinner and game night at our Sherman Oaks Autism Center, located at 13164 Burbank Blvd from 5 to 7pm. This event, which costs $15 for adults and $10 for children, will allow families to have a safe, judgment-free space to enjoy a night out with their loved ones while also giving families the opportunity to interact with one another and cultivate a sense of community. By holding the dinner in a private room, we are able to control the lighting, sound and food options to cater to those that experience sensory challenges.
